Serving customers is your main income
Running the restaurant is the heart of PAO PAO, and it is also how you earn. The developer's own description of the game centers on running and developing your eatery. In the September 27, 2026 NAC Games session, customer income appears at about 13:10, shortly after the restaurant opens.
Every completed order adds to your balance, while failed orders waste ingredients and time. That makes reliability more valuable than variety in the early days. Focus on serving the dishes you can finish, and your income will follow. Restaurant work is also the activity every other system feeds into.
Choose a menu you can supply
Your menu decides what you need to buy, catch or grow each day. A dish you cannot supply earns nothing and can stall service while you scramble for ingredients. Match your daily menu to what is already in storage, or to what you can buy on a single trip.
In September 2026 footage, the market sells catfish along with carrots and tomatoes. Catfish sashimi is a confirmed simple dish that needs only one ingredient and two steps. Our recipes guide explains how to check each dish in the cookbook before adding it. Recipes were updated in the October 2026 patch, so older ingredient lists may be wrong.
Start with fewer dishes
A smaller menu is easier to manage, and that matters for income. An older January 2026 impression from LadiesGamers recommends starting with one dish to avoid overload. Becktoriiia, in an October 22, 2026 session, later reflects that a simpler menu would have made her shift easier.
Fewer dishes means fewer ingredients to buy and fewer steps to remember. It also means you can serve orders faster, which keeps customers moving through the restaurant. Add new dishes only once your current menu runs without mistakes. Growing the menu slowly protects both your income and your ingredient budget.
Keep the kitchen moving
Efficiency during service turns into more completed orders. In Becktoriiia's session, at about 44:16, she washes dishes while food is cooking. Using waiting time for cleaning or preparation keeps the whole workflow from stalling.
At around 51:02 in the same video, she discusses her earnings after the shift. That moment shows the service loop paying off, but it is not a controlled profit test. The practical lesson is to keep every station busy rather than waiting idly for one task to finish. Small habits like this add up over a full day of service.
Plan your layout before opening
A cluttered kitchen slows you down and costs orders. Both recent creators had to move boxes or a bin that blocked access to ingredients. In the September footage, the player also discovers that editing is not available while the restaurant is open.
Arrange storage, preparation, cooking and cleaning spots before service starts. Clear paths mean less walking and faster dishes, which helps your income indirectly. The restaurant layout guide offers a starter workflow you can adapt. A few minutes of planning before opening can save many wasted steps later.
Selling fish as extra income
Fishing can do more than stock your kitchen. In the September 2026 NAC Games session, a fish-selling interaction appears between about 1:28:27 and 1:28:33. That confirms selling catches as a demonstrated way to earn some extra money.
Sale values were not independently checked, so this guide does not list prices or the most valuable fish. Fishing first requires a rod from an NPC named Croc. See the fishing rod guide and the fishing guide to get started.
Selling surplus produce
Your garden can also contribute beyond the kitchen. Recent demo footage describes selling surplus produce as another possible source of income. Crops start with garden beds, seeds and a watering can, as covered in the farming guide.
How much produce earns compared with restaurant service has not been verified. Treat selling crops as a supplement rather than a replacement for serving customers. If you have leftovers after planning tomorrow's menu, selling them is a reasonable way to use them. Keep enough back for the dishes you plan to serve.
Spend less by growing and catching
Saving money is the other half of earning it. Cozy Escapism notes that growing and catching your own ingredients can reduce reliance on purchases. Every fish you catch or carrot you grow is one you do not have to buy.
This does not prove a specific profit per minute, because gathering also takes time away from the restaurant. Balance outdoor trips with service hours so neither suffers. The right mix depends on your menu and whether friends can share the work. The ingredient locations guide lists the confirmed supply routes.
Money in co-op sessions
Playing with friends changes how you split the work, not the basic income route. PAO PAO supports online co-op for up to four players, so tasks such as cooking, serving, cleaning and gathering can be divided. A well-organized group can keep the restaurant running while someone else fishes or farms.
The October 1, 2026 patch fixed money synchronization issues in multiplayer. If your balance looked wrong in an older co-op session, that may have been a sync problem rather than normal income behavior. The co-op guide covers other online fixes from the same patch.
Avoid patched duplication bugs
Some older demo builds had duplication issues, including with garden beds. The October 1, 2026 patch addressed those problems along with money synchronization. Relying on a duplication trick is not a stable earning strategy, and it may no longer work.
This wiki does not promote exploits as money-making methods. Building a reliable restaurant routine gives you income that does not disappear with the next update. Stick to serving, selling surplus and saving on ingredients.
What is not confirmed
Players often ask for the single best way to get rich quickly, but that has not been verified. There is no confirmed best dish, unlimited-money method, exact hourly rate or optimal farming return. Sale values for fish and crops were not checked either.
This guide sticks to what demo footage and official notes support. When the Early Access version is documented, verified figures will be added with their sources. Until then, serve customers reliably and treat everything else as a bonus.
